the appellation area is located between the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, with 7 villages entitled to use the name. The vineyards enjoy a south-south-east aspect and grow on Jurassic calcareous clay and limestone soils. The terrain is rugged in places and Chardonnay is the sole varietal used here.
