5 villages in the Minervois region (Azillanet, Cesseras, Siran, La Livinière and Felines-Minervois), covering around 250 hectares, qualify for the site-specific Minervois-la-Livinière appellation. Only red wines are grown here, with Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre forming the compulsory backbone of the varietal range (at least 60%). Yields are lower and the wines are made and aged to stricter standards than basic Minervois.
Grape varieties: ins rouges : carignan, grenache, lladoner pelut, syrah, mourvèdre, cinsaut, terret, picpoul noir, aspiran.
