the Hautes Côtes de Nuits borders on the Hautes Côtes de Beaune in the north and covers 17 villages in Côte d’Or, dotted between Dijon and Maranges. The vineyards are home to Pinot noir and Chardonnay vines and, despite their high elevation, they enjoy excellent aspect and suitable soils.

The wines of this appellation

the reds exhibit a relatively deep hue and sterling quality fruit. On the palate, they display a pleasant mellowness, fat and freshness. Although they are quite robust, they are still soft and fruity, thereby pairing well with poultry for example. The whites are of a good standard, quite generous and highly aromatic. Try with langoustine and other shellfish.
