This Côte de Beaune growth straddles Chassagne and Puligny-Montrachet. The soil is limestone and the vines face south-east, which is conducive to good sunshine exposure. The highest elevations are home to soils of steep Rauracien limestone, followed by Callovian limestone further down and ultimately Bathonian limestone at the foot of the hill. They are shallow and poor. The 8 or so hectares of this great growth are divided amongst 17 different owners, who grow a single variety: Chardonnay. The white wines are racy, elegant, opulent, deep and intense with lashings of body. With their bright golden hue, they display fragrances of hazelnut, dried fruit, fern, butter and honey, unfolding into more mineral notes as they age. They pair with shellfish, sole in a white butter sauce and poultry in a cream sauce.
Grape varieties: Vins blancs secs : Chardonnay
