A.O.C./A.O.P.

44 towns and villages in Saône-et-Loire are entitled to this appellation: canton of Buxy (18 villages), Chagny (11 villages), Givry (12 villages) and Mont Saint Vincent (3 villages). The area was awarded AC status in 1993 so that growers outside the boundaries of the other local appellations (Mercurey, Givry, Rully and Montagny) could enjoy their own appellation. Production conditions are identical to those for AC Bourgogne.

Grape varieties: Vins rouges, rosés : Pinot noir. Vins blancs secs : Chardonnay

The wines of this appellation

the red wines are light, supple, delicate and round with fragrances of red fruits (cherry, raspberry, strawberry), bay, and pleasant tannins and acidity. Try with veal stew. The whites are rich, with a pleasant bouquet, developing aromas of flowers and dried fruit.
