as a rule, they are clean, fresh, delicate, vigorous, fruity and light although diversity prevails in such a vast area. A statement that holds true for all of them though is that they are drier than Cabernet d’Anjou. Their hue covers a broad spectrum, from pale pink to grenadine red. Their fragrance is redolent of red fruit (strawberry, raspberry, red currant, pear drop) and apple. The perfect partner for hors d’œuvre (mixed salads, cold cuts), barbecues and white meat.
