D.O.C.G.
The Offida D.O.C.G. appellation lies in the southern Marche region, straddling the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo around the town of Offida. It fully covers the municipalities of Acquaviva Picena, Appignano del Tronto, Castel di Lama, Castorano, Castignano, Cossignano, Montefiore dell'Aso, Offida and Ripatransone, plus parts of neighbouring municipalities. Vineyards are planted between 50 and 650 metres above sea level, from the coastal fringe to medium-high hills, on deep brown calcareous soils with good water-holding capacity. The climate is Mediterranean, with warm but not oppressive summers and relatively cold winters. The appellation covers three wine types: Offida Pecorino, Offida Passerina and Offida Rosso. Pecorino is defined by its grape variety, pecorino, which must make up at least 85% of the blend, the remainder coming from other non-aromatic white varieties authorised in the Marche region.

Offida Pecorino DOCG is a dry white wine with a straw-yellow colour showing greenish tints. The nose is characteristic and pleasant, the palate dry and distinctive. The wine stands out for its structure, freshness and marked salinity, qualities that support its ageing potential and give it a recognisable sensory profile that gains complexity over time. Its freshness and tension make it a versatile food wine: it pairs with grilled or sauced fish, shellfish and seafood, pasta dishes with vegetables or herbs, and fresh or soft cheeses. Its structure also allows it to stand up to richer dishes such as white meats or poultry in sauce.
