The wines of this appellation

Tavel is a rosé wine only appellation boasting a long-standing reputation. Sporting an attractive onion skin colour with ruby-red tints evolving into livelier, more rosé style shades, Tavel is round on the palate with great aromatic power and a spicy finish. It is highly unusual in that it ages well. Tavel wines display fragrances of red fruit leading into notes of stone fruit and toasted almonds. They are suitable partners for fish, white or red meats though also exotic cuisine.
