this appellation is located not far from Grand-Lieu lake, south-west of Nantes. It covers 250 hectares under vine, spread over 19 villages extending down to the tip of Vendée. Soil types are varied: micaschist, gneiss, sand with pebbles and even clayey sand south of the lake. The area enjoys a sunny, mild climate with plentiful rainfall which offsets the drying effect of the wind over the stony terrain.
Grape varieties: Vins blancs secs : muscadet
