More than 4,000 people attended one of Argentina’s most significant wine events, where over 500 labels from all regions of the South American country were tasted.
Federico Kunz, organizer
Gilbert & Gaillard was present at the Wine Expo 2025, held at the Hilton Mendoza Hotel, Argentina, on August 14 and 15. The event attracted nearly 4,000 people who explored and tasted wines and spirits from over 120 Argentine wineries.
One of the highlights of the fair, organized by Hilton and Wine of Mendoza (WOM), was an Artificial Intelligence agent named ArIAnna (inspired by the wife of the Roman god Bacchus), developed by Civitas, making Wine Expo the first AI-assisted wine fair.
The section featuring unique wines from small wineries and distinctive projects captured the attention of attendees at the entrance to the main hall. In the center, labels from renowned wineries representing a variety of terroirs from different regions of Argentina, from Salta (in the North) to Chubut (in the South), as well as Spanish wines, were showcased. At the end of the hall, there was a curated selection of wines from the DOC Luján de Cuyo.
A notable feature of the fair was that two world champion soccer players from Qatar 2022 launched their own wines: Lautaro Martínez, with Cittannina from Las Compuertas, a project with his wife, Mendocina Agustina Gandolfo; and Mi Victoria LP5, by midfielder Leandro Paredes, produced by Bodega Barberis.
**Wine Trade**
On the first day of Wine Expo, the Wine Trade event took place, with nearly 700 participants from commercial sectors, distributors, and industry stakeholders, including winemakers, agronomists, sommeliers, communicators, and wine tourism developers. The event featured talks by Elena Alonso (Elena Financiera), Marcelo Palma (Artificial Intelligence, Civitas), and Santiago Caranza (Creativity).
