Jean Geiler celebrates its 100th anniversary: a century of passion, terroirs and connections

Some anniversaries matter more than others. On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the Jean Geiler cellar threw open its doors at 45 rue de la République in Ingersheim to celebrate a milestone few houses can claim: a full century of existence. The Gilbert & Gaillard team was delighted to stand alongside this loyal partner to raise a glass to 100 years of Alsatian excellence.

1926-2026: a century of cooperative history at the heart of Alsace

The adventure began on March 5, 1926. In an Alsatian wine region then weakened by crisis, a handful of winegrowers from Ingersheim and surrounding villages bet on unity: together, they founded the Cave Vinicole d'Ingersheim, which would later take the name of Jean Geiler, the famous 15th-century Alsatian preacher. A hundred years on, that bet has more than paid off: the cooperative now brings together 240 winegrowing families and 830 hectares of vines at the heart of the Alsace wine region, without losing any of its founders' spirit of mutual support.

A new identity for the centenary, and a signature line: "The wines that bring people together"

Rather than simply looking in the rearview mirror, the cellar chose to make this centenary a starting point. A redesigned logo, modernized labels, a sharpened brand message: the new visual identity, unveiled in spring 2026, gives the house a fresh look without betraying what makes it who it is. It comes with a signature that rings true: "Jean Geiler, the wines that bring people together." Three words that sum up a century of cooperative life, where wine brings together generations of winegrowers as much as those who share it at the table.

Alsace wines and Crémants recognized at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge

Our tasters see this rigor year after year. A loyal partner of the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge, the Jean Geiler cellar regularly enters its Alsace wines and its Crémants made using the traditional method, and the awards earned reflect a remarkable consistency in quality. Medals that the house proudly shares with its customers, proof that in Ingersheim, excellence is part of the heritage.

An anniversary celebrated all weekend long in Ingersheim

June 27 delivered on every promise: official speeches, a cellar tour, a convivial meal and entertainment filled the day, extended by an open house running all weekend. A chance for the public to discover the inner workings of a century-old house and raise a glass with the people who keep it going.

One thing is certain: under the leadership of its chairman Clément Bohn and general manager Philippe Rivet, the cellar is entering its second century with the same passion as its first day. Happy anniversary, and long live Jean Geiler!
